So me and my friend just picked up one of the new alienware alpha $550 We got the i3 one. I understand it's not the most well equipped pc but the thing is actually pretty powerful for it's size. It gets very good frame rates on most games surprisingly up in the 40s but the problem is this random stuttering. Like the frame rate will be at 40 and then randomly BAM this sudden drop to 2 fps and sudden freezes that last anywhere between 1-10 seconds. Then the machine catches up again and it runs smooth. It just goes back and forth like the machine is bottlenecking over and over. I've heard the hard drive is a big problem at 5500 rpm. If we could just figure out a solution to get rid of this stuttering and stabilize the performance we'd be set. These things run with geforce so maybe there's some nvidia settings I could tweak?
